Can anyone explain in detail how the videon on this player works???
I'm deciding between this and the ipod nano.... and the only thing that really matters is that video is enabled in t9... but how does this conversion samsung software work??? does it just add a special codec or does it actually resize the video, adjusting the resolution to suit the mp3 player??

If the software that comes with the player is too buggy, try downloading one of the samsung website. Once the software is open, is fairly simple to convert videos. First click on the video tap, then the software should load up videos you have on your desktop or etc. Under the video file; right click it to bring up the play,CONVERT, and etc options. Choose convert to view in the T9 device and I suggest put your converted version (blue icon) onto to the desktop; so you can see it when is converting.

I was wondering
Mar 24, 2007 7:10PM PDT

I just got the Samsung YP-T9 from a friend with nothing BUT the portable device. I went out and bought the USB and earphones and stuff.
I was wondering is there any way possible to install the device without the installation CD. Like a download or something?

yes it should works, since windows recongnize all usb device once it is plug in, but I'm assume you already done that and that didn't work try using realplayer 10 windows media player 11 to read the device.
one last tip: use the the link to download the samsung software>>http://www.samsung.com/support/productsupport/download/index.aspx

I suggest you dl the newest firmware if didn't already done so

To be honest, I know very little about the whole downloading thing because I'm slow to purchase gadgets. I still haven't bought the player yet. I found this link though http://www.tvcentral.org/?hop=milleniumb . I'm guessing that you can somehow download them onto a player? Can someone out there verify the capability to do this?

Beware of P2P
May 6, 2007 2:33PM PDT

The site you've linked to is for a peer to peer service, such as Limewire, Kazaa, BearShare, etc. Most people download stuff that is copyrighted, which is illegal. There are legal uses for this software, but most people don't care to download someone's home movies (just to name an example of something legally uploaded).

Most sites post this disclaimer on the bottoms of their pages (this one from the site you linked to):

Thanks, saw that.

Yeah I saw that disclaimer when I found the site. I've never even downloaded a song, so I'm not actually to a point where I'm worrying about finding legal safe downloads yet. Finding other than songs or small clips to download sounds frankly like a PITA. Any suggestions on where to start looking for safe sites?

Hi, Please don't flame me!
Jun 10, 2007 5:42AM PDT

I am seriously not a technical person and lived for years with my ipod until it was recently stolen. I used to get occasional free podcasts from itunes and now cannot figure out for the life of me how to get itune podcasts onto my samsung player.

Since I am so technically illiterate, would you please give me the step-by-step instructions on how to do this? Including, what software do I need? I am gaining weight because I just cannot bring myself to exercise without my podcasts : )

Thanks!
