Samsung YP-Q1 Video conversion problems

Hi there, I have a Samsung YP-Q1 MP4 player bought from Singapore. I tried to convert a movie with .mkv format using Emodio 1.0.8.8 version which came with the player. Kindly advice me if you know any other possibilities to convert .mkv to .svi format or any upgrades available for that.
