Question

Samsung WIS12ABGNX dongle

Nov 28, 2012 5:59PM PST

I have a samsung series 7 LED Model Code UA55B7100WFXXY and have purchased a samsung dongle WIS12ABGNX. I can not change under Setting> Setup> Network Type to Wireless. It is greyed out and set to Cable. I have updated latest firmware by USB and confirm the USB port is working on the TV. I have connected the dongle to my computer which has recognised the dongle. But I can not activeate the wireless network type on my TV.

Hi chipsAUS,

Thanks for your message. But just so you know: if you want Samsung support, I support US products and customers. And from what I can tell, this model is for Australia. (Correct me if I'm wrong.) So while I can't help you directly, if you want Samsung help, here's the Samsung Australia portal for support on that product: http://www.samsung.com/au/support/model/UA55B7100WFXXY

Hope this helps you!

Just try it.

Try the WiFi in the other USB port. Worth a try. If that fails, have them swap the adapter, re-test and then it's time for service. At this point the maker support in your country should have noted this plus said something about the firmware.

And yes, the manual shows either USB port but it's worth checking.

Finally, ask your local support if that's the right dongle.

Just checking. Did you see if the firmware is current?

It looks newer than when the set came out and it would not surprise me the change was to support the newer WiFi dongle.
