Samsung Wireless Adapter WIS12ABGNX

by Bandula_G / October 20, 2014 1:35 AM PDT

I have a Samsung TV Model 46B8000XF. The instruction manual recommends that I use a Samsung Wireless adapter WIS09ABGN. However, I have purchased adapter WIS12ABGNX. Can this work with my TV?

Is this a 2009 TV?

If so I suggest you forget adding internet connections to a dated TV since it was only the beginning of that effort. For the same dollars you should be able to get a current, more capable internet system and WiFi with a newer BluRay player.

Samsung wifi LAN Adapter WIS 09ABGN

In reply to: Is this a 2009 TV?

Thanks for the advice. My TV model is Samsung UA46 B8000XF. Apparently (as per advice from Samsung) WIS 12ABGNX can only be used on models C and above. The TV manual recommends WIS 09ABGN but these are not available from Samsung or other dealers. I am really keen to get internet connection to the TV via wifi. There are refurbished WIS 09ABGN adapters on eBay, but not sure whether these would work.

Can you advise?

Regards.

I advise against adding the USB dongle to such a dated model. For the same money I can get a current experience with BluRay players.

A good-looking fridge with useful features like an auto-filling water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It was a near-flawless performer in our cooling tests.
