Samsung Warranty and Support.... Arghhh

Jul 4, 2017 10:34PM PDT

I purchased Samsung Note 5 about 8 months ago form a local shops in Melbourne which has started to give me issues with charging and battery life. Battery only lasts for 2 hours and takes ages to charge.
I took it to their local customer services centre in Central Station in Melbourne where they refused to repair/replace it as they are claiming it to be American Model and hence can't be supported here in Australia. Samsung confirmed it to be a genuine Samsung Device and it was only launched nearly 21 months ago and was purchased brand new about 8 months ago. I had fair bit of argument and they agreed to replace it but only if I provide them with a proof of purchase, which I don't have. But surly this device has to be under warranty period of 24 months as it never existed any time before Sept/Oct 2015. Moreover they could have checked the IMEI number to verify the date of manufacturing.
What sort of customer support is this.... Are are actually allowed to do that to their customers here in Australia. This is crap service, their phones blow out, doesn't last for long and then they do even cover their warranty..... this is extremely disappointing and my last ever purchase of any Samsung device, they are useless absolutely useless and brand - extremely unhappy!!!
