Samsung VP-D361i Tape Eject Problem

Hi,
My partner's Dad bought us a Samsung VP-D361i Camcorder a couple of years ago which has only been used a few times. We've just had a baby and went to use it recently to film our bubba's special moments but it keeps telling us to eject the tape. We've tried using numerous tapes but none of them work, it just keeps popping up with the same message......
Any help would be greatly appreciated as we cant afford to go out and buy a new one =)
