Samsung Vitality/admire cell phone does not fully reset-

I bought this phone used & locally from a private party.

It is for Cricket. I still have 2 months left on my tmobile contract. So when my contract with tmobile expires, I MIGHT decide to switch to cricket, or another carrier.

I know the vitality works cause it is in pristine condition.
I have been using the wifi too.

But even though I got the phone with the previous owners info erased, there is something that was not erased.
It is his former phone number in the settings part
(about phone>status>my phone number).

I redid a reset on the phone myself but it wont clear out his former phone number.
So in the event that I choose to stay with tmobile longer, I may end up selling this phone. But, whether I keep it or sell it, i want this info gone; just as if it were a brand new out of box phone.
What can I try.
Thanks in advance.....

Isn't Tmobile on GSM and Cricket on CDMA?

You can research that further. But that reset should never erase what's on the SIM card.

Some folk need a reminder on those 2 areas.

My question is about cricket samsung vitality reset problem

Hi, I guess u did not understand my question, sorry..............
I have tmobile right now using a tmobile phone w/sim card.
I am considering switching to Cricket after my contract ends with Tmobile.

If I do switch, I already have a phone I can activate (meaning the cricket vitality that I bought used
So now my question...I cant get the former phone number 'erased' from the phones memory (samsung vitality) which is in the settings area somewhere. Even after I too performed a reset, the old former number of whomever owned this
phone before did not delete. I still see it in the phone settings.

How can I get rid of it? And if I choose not to switch to cricket, (and stay with tmobile) then i will probably sell the cricket vitality phone before it gets too outdated and worth less.
