Calibration report using these settings:
[see below]

TV software/firmware version tested: 1219

Below you'll find the settings I found best for viewing the Samsung UN65JU7100 in a dim room via the HDMI input. Your settings may vary depending on source, room conditions, and personal preference. Check out the Picture settings and calibration FAQ for more information.

Calibration notes: Unlike the JS8500 review sample I received from Samsung, the JU7100 sample CNET purchased on the open market was not perfect out of the box in Movie (the most accurate picture mode). I take that as further evidence that Samsung's team tweaked the JS8500 before they sent it to me. It's not the first time a TV maker has done that, I'm sure, and it won't be the last, and in the end it doesn't mean much to the final evaluation since I calibrate every TV I review anyway.

Movie mode on the JU7100 was relatively plus-blue before calibration and as usual relatively bright. Using Samsung's typically excellent grayscale/gamma controls I was able to get it nearly perfect, except for the highest end of the scale which remained stubbornly blue/green because the 100% interval on the 10-point system's red control was ineffective. Overall though that's a minor blemish.

The color management system didn't require much adjustment, and after a couple of tweaks all of the primaries and secondaries were superbly accurate. The worst was blue, but it still fell below my target delta error of 3.

Help with setting (UN60JU7100)
by aur148 / December 10, 2015 10:47 PM PST

I'm trying to apply the picture settings as per Cnet but there are a couple of options listed here that I cannot access on the TV. Like HDMI black level is set as low and greyed out. Film mode is off and greyed out. When I click on it, I get a message saying this function is not available. I've connected my Apple TV using HDMI. Please help.

The Samsung RF23M8090SG

One of the best French door fridges we've tested

A good-looking fridge with useful features like an auto-filling water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It was a near-flawless performer in our cooling tests.
