Samsung UN75H7150
Nov 19, 2014 1:28PM PST

I just got a 75" H7150 LED to replace my 64" F8500 PLASMA.
BOY, OH BOY AM I DISAPPOINTED! The brightness is WAY TOO HIGH.
I went online to see what some others thot would be a good group of settings for this model, even tho' a bunch of reviews told me the settings are pretty good right out of the box.
Well...they aren't.
Even after the minor adjustments, the pic quality is NOWHERE near my F8500.
I sit about 13 feet from the screen.
Sometimes I am even about 5 feet off-center.
That REALLY makes the pic look bad!
I am signed up for a geekSQ calibration ( never had/needed one is 7yrs. and 5 Panasonic, 2 Samsung HDTV sets )

I hope they can make it look somewhere near my old Pan plasmas.

Does anyone out there have some good settings for this LED TV?
Thank you if you do.

Turned it back...

I was able to get only one set of settings online...NOT David K's settings.
These were much less than successful in improving the quality to my liking.
There were still times when the screen was alive with white brightness.

Just this afternoon the deliverymen came and returned the TV to the BB warehouse.

Now let me say that the pic was not too bad IF I was sitting directly in front of the screen...even at 13 feet.
BUT, standing, or moving off to the end of the sofa and sitting in my chair caused a serious decline in the pic.

You may be OKay if you are not too picky as I am, and your viewing position is right in front and centered.

i am just not able to accept this compromise from the fine pic quality I have enjoyed on plasmas since '07.

I will miss the giant screen as mine is "just" 64".
