Samsung UN55D7000 - VLC Player

Good day everyone

First i'm pleased and happy to finally have a tv with all Multimedia and web surfing needs.

There's an issue that i cannot resolve unless Samsung get it appended .

We need VLC player or VLC plug in for watching live streaming media online.

I have 6 of relatives family that we wanted to buy the 60 inch but they turn around just because no VLC plugin is available.

Hope Samsung will make a mod on this ,as this is a shoe stopper for many customers.

Also do we have an option to save streaming media to a hard drive to playit back later ? this will make this TV a Complete solution for everyday use.

Best Regards.

I can explain why this can never happen.

The reason VLC can do its magic is because of the country it was crafted in. This area of copyright and patent law means that no company such as in Korea or Japan could embed VLC into their product.

Even playing some DVD required some license and payment to many parties such as MPEGLA.

Today you find consumers blissfully unaware and writing scathing comments about content that won't play. The reasons are well known.
