Samsung UN55C6500 Calibration Settings

Jim,

I just bought the Samsung 55 C6500 HD set.
When I am watching anything sourced in Video -- it looks great.
But for programs originally shot on Film - like Movies- -it still looks like Video and kills the "movie experience".

Have you experienced this? Found a solution?

thanks

I spoke to a knowledgeable guy at the Samsung store in the Time Warner Center. He recommended turning off 'Auto Motion Plus 120 Hz'. This is for broadcasts that may be in less than 60hz. This definitely helps. Also used settings for the 7000 on tweaktv.com (6500 na). Note that settings are saved in 'movie' mode only. Also, he suggested getting the THX dvd from Amazon that will guide you through how to choose the best settings.

Seems like a lot of work -- I plugged my Panasonic plasma in and it looked great from the beginning. However the settings can make a big difference.

bill_nyc,

Thanks man. Turning off that "Automotion plus 120 hz" made a huge improvement.
