looking to purchase a un55b 8500. I am having difficulty finding a source that is reliable. I am looking for a 240 hz backlit
tv . any new models not 3d that meet these requirements

The 2010 models from Samsung offer LED EdgeLit technology. There isn't an equivalent to the LED backlit technology available this year in our offering.

The benefits of the EdgeLit is that the power consumption is less than traditional televisions, and allows the panels to be extremely thin.
