Question

Samsung UN40HU6950 4k - screen goes black randomly

Mar 5, 2015 1:51PM PST

Hello,

I recently purchased a new Samsung UN40HU6950 4K TV from Best Buy a couple of weeks ago. I noticed for the past few days the screen randomly goes black when watching TV and the Samsung oval logo appears. It's only happened a few times.

I can still hear the sound and if I press any button on the smart remote control, the picture comes back up. The TV is hooked to a cable box from Time Warner (via HDMI on source 1) . Picture is very nice, but I am concerned. Is the TV defective? or is it a loss of signal? Please help.

I'd certainly contact Best Buy or Samsung before the 1 year warranty ends, to get a free repair.

Always call those in. DO NOT DELAY.

While it sounds like a sleep setting both Samsung and BB should know their product to check that out.

I'm Sorry to hear this! Have you tried changing up the auto protection time under the settings menu?
