Resolved Question

Samsung UN40ES6100 Universal Remote

Dec 9, 2012 12:12PM PST

I just purchased a Samsung UN40ES6100 which came with a Universal Remote which includes the buttons needed for the Smart TV. I was able to get through the Universal Remote Setup successfully. I can navigate the channels, change volume, go the to the menu all for the cable box, but the one thing i can't do is access the guide. I have Cox as a service provider and a Motorola - CMH3200 box. Is there anyway that I can access the guide from the universal remote. If not this means that I have to use two remotes on a daily basis? One to access the TV and its smart features an another to access the guide which i use on a daily basis. There has to be a way to access the guide. Both Cox and Samsung just keep saying if it is a universal remote all features may not be available.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

This is why so many try out a Logitech Harmony. Some folk hate more than one remote and this is where this model shines.

Hi finn0,

I understand your frustration, but generally speaking, Samsung remotes won't control the guide of a cable box. There's no troubleshooting for this since the remote is working with the other functions already. I'm sorry for the inconvenience this may give you.
