Question

Samsung UN40EH6000 source list

by dgf33 / January 28, 2017 9:55 AM PST

I am a senior and have trouble with the source list because it goes away too fast. It stays up only 5 seconds, so it's gone before I have time to make my selection. Does anyone know how to lengthen the time that the source list is displayed?

How about an external HDMI switch?

Reasonable idea

Yes, that would work.

Full disclosure - I'm asking this for my 91 yr old dad. I'm an EE who spent 35 yrs designing circuits. So I know there is a way to set the display time of the menu in the TV firmware. At best, the time can be changed through a hidden developer GUI or code sequence through the remote. Worst case the delay is hard coded in the firmware.
As an engineer it bothers me that with all the various setting options that the TV menu allows this is not programmable by the user. Especially with the default set to 5 seconds.

Me too.

But Samsung and others have yet to publish this or respond to such needs. So my thought is "what else could work?"
