Question

Samsung UN40C6300 LED tv won't recognize USB drive

Mar 13, 2017 9:25AM PDT

Hey howdy hey -
I've been trying very unsuccessfully to update the firmware on my Samsung LED TV via a USB drive, but after some time of "searching" it says it can't find the USB (paraphrased horribly, but close enough) despite knowing one has been plugged in. Dumb.

Anyways, I've contacted support and followed the steps exactly that they indicated, and had also done the same steps previously, but no luck. Anyone else have thing issue and/or know how to fix it? The last answer from support was to call in a repairman but would rather not for something that should simply work

Thanks and happy trails!

Clarification Request
Did Samsung say to try small USB drives?

Most of these updates fit on 1 or 2GB drives. Big 32GB or larger drives may have issues. Also, don't get fancy with formatting. Stick to FAT32

Samsung didn't say anything about the size of the USB, but I have been using a 2GB. I'll try the reformatting though. Thanks!
