Hi,

I cannot get a full screen with this tv using 16/9 size Recommended) or the screen fit either, black bars on 4 sides. The 2 zooms are greyed out, also I tried the 3 picture modes and still the same, using HDMI cable. Any help appreciated.

Thanks, Bill

Hello Bill,
I'm sorry to hear this! As long as your television's ratio is set to 16X9 you would have to find the setting of aspect ratio on the external device to resolve the issue.

Hi HD Tech,

by external device are you saying the Samsung remote? Is there some button on it that I can use to widen the screen on 16/9, there is no setting on the HD receiver. I mostly use the tv receiver remote to change chs, etc. and the Samsung for menu setting, picture, contrast etc. The only setting that gives a full screen is the (wide fit) but you lose some of the bottom crawl line tape thats goes by on certain news chs. This setting also has a setting in the (picture options) its (position) where you have two arrows that you can move the screen vertically up and then see the bottom tape okay, click enter to save and return. If you then change to another ch. or turn the set off/on again the vertical setting is lost and goes back to the previous screen. It (dosen't save the new setting) like it saves the (picture, contrast, color settings) I also have another Samsung 46" tv that works perfectly on 16/9 setting and both have the identlical screen menu choices (3) both are Series 45, Thanks, Bill.

Bill,

You should have a P.Size button on the Samsung remote that you can press to make sure the screen's aspect ratio is set to 16X9. As long as the screen is set to 16X9 means that you would need to contact the Cable/Satellite service provider to walk you through changing the aspect ratio settings on the Cable box.

Hi HD Tech,

Many thanks, I'll try that and get back to you later.
