Resolved Question

Samsung UN22D5003BF

Feb 19, 2015 2:35AM PST

I have 2 Samsung UN22D5003BFTV's. I did an update via USB and after it completed and turned back on the TV screen shows no signal, After live chats and talks on phone I was told it was Comcast problem. I then called Comcast and they reset my digital converter. Again I call Samsung and they say I need a repairman. These TVs are 2 yrs. old and probably haven't been used over 2 hours total playing time. The one I did the update on was working fine before update. I checked the TV I didn't update and the program code seems to be newer than Samsung shows as an update? Update is T-MX5FAUSC-1007.0.
In original T-MX5FAUSC-1010.0 ? I have tried to find this on line to no prevail, thinking I could reinstall over update and get this TV working again. Any thoughts?

http://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/UN22D5003BF pegs this to a 2011 year model and the firmware about the same year.

The firmware on this one should never need an update so you took a risk there. The web page I provided may be outdated or you don't have an UN22D5003BF and somehow applied a firmware from the wrong model.

Cost will be an issue here as this model seems to sell for about 150 bucks.

Service calls for 32 and under inch models include a trip charge and could exceed the price of it's replacement.

All this could cause a lot of upset remarks so maybe it's best to replace it and NEVER do the firmware update.

Can I ask why the firmware was updated since it's not a smart TV?

PS. Try any and all resets including the old remove power and cables for 10 minutes.

Given the choices, I would not update.

You can find many prior discussions on why and very upset folk with dead things after updates.
