Question

Samsung Ultra 4K a/v sync

by Colgu / March 10, 2015 1:26 PM PDT

A non recurring problem has cropped up whereby the audio and video go out of sync. Despite Samasung resetting, and me checking later, the sound delay to 0, the problem persists.

Clarification Request
From what source?

I often hear of this from the OTHER video sources like USB movie files. I don't see it on factory media like BluRay.

This happens only on the TV, which is hooked into a cable system. Other TVs are unaffected by the problem, which is inconsistent. It happened last evening for about four hours, and it did not matter the programming source: cable network, broadcast network, local station.
This morning, all was back in sync.

Here my older Sony was having a bad case of LIP SYNC last year. Without any change on my end the OTA channel in question just started to work. It appears they figured out they were transmitting it out of sync.

Yes you did write other TVs were OK but then we can't know what audio stream you used on those and this one.

All televisions are connected to the same cable source.
And this is an intermittent problem on the Samsung.

Remember "audio stream"?

If you say it's Samsung, make the call, they'll check firmware, reset it and then you move to the final solution if it's still bad.

Done

I've talked to Samsung support, and we did the firmware, adjusted the sound to 0 delay, and the problem arose again.
Waiting for call from support after conversation this morning did. It resolve problem.
