Question

Samsung UE55HU7200UX ignores tv controller.

Mar 15, 2015 5:33AM PDT

My Samsung has just thrown a wobbly.
When turned on at the mains it immediately shows BBC2, the last programme viwed yesterday.
It is totally unresponsive to the controller, which works our other Samsung TV's.
After about 5 minutes the video freezes but the audio continues, and shortly afterwards the TV re-boots briefly to a picture and then again to both video and audio.
This activity then continues.
The TV aerial is set to FREESAT..

I could be wrong.

But it looks like a very very new model. I didn't find it on samsung.com but on the web it looks to have been sold in 2015. If so, just call Samsung in your country to arrange for repair.

Many thanks Bob, you are correct, it's a late 2014 4K curved tv.
I will be calling their service dept. tomorrow.
Just posted in case other people have had similar issues.

Is some reports of reboots on some OTA channels. That bug is only solved by Samsung. It's one odd bug and Sam knows about it. But I can't tell you if this is that bug.

I have just learned that there was a firmware update, issued 12/03/2015, I am wondering if yesterday the 14th march, when the wife was watching a late film whether the download had started from FREESAT and the wife had switched of the TV at the mains when going to bed, if this could have caused the problem?

That only Samsung's programmers will know. They often will not tell us what they fixed or broke.
