Question

Samsung UE55F8000 Mark on screen.

Hi,

Today while cleaning the TV i noticed a mark which appears to be under the glass of the screen.

It doesnt appear to look like dead pixles but i may be wrong.

I have took 3 pictures which i have added here.

The TV is 11 Months old.

Any advice would be appreciated.

It seems translucent as if the mark is on the surface. Repair is going to be costly as the mark looks to be on the screen. There are some TV repair shops that can try and buff it out but it looks like screen damage from here.

I have an old series 6 samsung, the rose red ones........... still got it in my bedroom.
The story is, I noticed one day that I had got loads of what I thought were dead pixels. Just turned up one day.
Was livid.
I suspect that a rather nice little insect has got in somewhere. I had the panel replaced as I took out a five year warranty for free when I had the tv.

Its not pixels as you can see from the picture, stuck or dead pixels are exactly that.............. this straddles various.

After reading some more I am too under the impression that this is something like a thunder fly that has got behind the screen and died!

I have a 5 year manufacturer's warranty with Samsung which came with the TV.

Do you think this will be covered?. I would of thought so as if a insect can get in then surely dust can which would impact in the long run on picture quality?

Well in my case I had a separate policy with legal and general and they covered it. Mine was a more extreme case as had seven of them.
The trouble is, any manufacturer would have a dead pixel policy, but this is not one of those cases.

I'd ring them up and send them the pictures. I cant see why not as you have no guarantee that next summer you wont get more. As we have the same tv, I'm hoping you are covered Wink

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
