Question

samsung ue50ju6400 +gaming issue

Jun 13, 2015 3:01AM PDT

Hello.
Recently i've bought this tv and is amazing despite not having 4k source but games look pretty bad. My previous tv was simple for calibration(ue40es5500) but in this one is so many options that i got headache. Standards settinga are awful. Can anyone help me to set my tv for ps4 or just advice what options to turn off or turn on (apart from game mode cos its terrible for games).
What is UHD color, 10p white balance and do i need hdmi 2.0 cable?
PS4 should be set to full rgb+full on this tv or limited both? Should i turn on deep color?

Thank You

Answer
4K may not be a good choice yet. Why?

Let's keep an eye on http://www.avsforum.com/forum/139-display-calibration/2031017-samsung-ue50ju6400-gaming-issue.html but the 4K gaming issues continue to be.

1. Framerate. Depending on country you may only see 25 or 30 FPS from whatever source to the TV. Gamers will hate that.

2. Input lag. Many TVs upscale or create other input lag that gamers will explode about. 4K doesn't help here but look to see if the non-4K input and any game mode or no-effects/nosmootihing option is on this set.

3. Back to Sam. I can't find this model on the web at samsung.com so it may be very new and not ready for what you want it for.

4. You dismissed game mode. This set is not for you.

Issue is the same as in my older model

It's quite new tv on the market (released 1 or 2 month ago). Picture for my sat tv is stunning but there is the same issue for games as it was in my old ue40es5500 - colors are too vivid, everything looks like there is some processing make green color washed out, red too saturated and yellow apparently is turned into white. Comparing gameplays ex. witcher 3 from youtube to my tv, on youtube they look more crisp, sharper with perfect colors. Pc mode look bit better with more accurate colors but overall picture is dull.
