Hi, i just bought a Samsung TV at Best Buy 2 years and a half ago. 4 days ago, my tv just stopped working, the screen went black and when i try to lit it up again, the screen was doing a quick flash and then the TV didn't simply want to light up. Then i called Samsung Canada, they told me that the TV wasn't under warranty and since i bought it in the US, they can't do nothing for me. Honestly, i just paid this TV around $2000. They then suggested me to send one of their authorized repair dealer to estimate the damage that was on TV at my own expense. $100 later, the company told me that the whole TV panel just blew (without any physical damage) and that if i wanted to repair it, it would have cost me over $1350 to change it and that Samsung won't cover it.
So i then called back Samsung Canada, they told me exactly the same thing as they were before so i asked them to be transferred to Samsung US which I succeed to achieve after several times since the connection didn't seems to go thought....The thing is when you try to call Samsung US from Canada, even if you call the right phone number, they reroute you to the Samsung in the country your physically. So you have to explain again and again the whole story to make sure they did transfer you. It's a pure time waste...So finally i reach someone from Samsung US, they told me that they can't do nothing about it since the product is not under warranty and that they can't transfer me to an executive since the department was close at this time and to try to call be the day after which i did.
The morning later, i go to the whole process again and then speak to someone at Samsung US that seems to be understanding a little more the situation, but she told me that if they want to send a technician I need to have a US address and to try to find one to send someone to estimate the TV. I told her that it was done already in Canada by one of their authorize repair service but she still needed to send someone else. How do you want me to get a US address where i ship the TV to make Samsung estimate it and maybe told me again that its not under warranty.
Honestly, i ended up contacting a lawyer in Gainesvilles that is already built a class-action suit against Samsung, Mr. Paul S. Rothstein, it's definitely my last resort since Samsung don't do anything to help me solve the situation. It's sad because i am sure it's the only way for them to listen and resolve my issue. If you are in the same situation as I am, i am suggesting you contact him, he's very professional an seems to have a lot of this type of case. Don't think your alone and have a hard time sleeping like i did during the last 3 days because, if a class action suit is going on, it's because you're far from being it. I don't know if it's a little too much, but let me leave you his contact infos in the case you are in the same situation, as I am. You can reach him at : contact@rothsteinforjustice.com (Please moderator if i can't leave infos like that just remove the last sentence)
Don't let them win over this, they have to take their responsibilities and to provide good products for the price we are paying.
Thanks
