Question

Samsung TV won't power on/off from remote.

Jul 14, 2017 4:32PM PDT

We have a Samsung 6300 tv and it recently stopped responding to power on/off signals from any of our remotes. The volume and other buttons still work, just not the power.

Any suggestions on what to check or do besides using the jog stick? Walk 10 feet to the tv?!?! The horror!!!!!!

Clarification Request
How old?

I see some models shipped April 2016 so is it in warranty?

Try new batteries and why are there more than one remote? Is there some problem with remotes that had you buy more?

2014 tv

It's older, 2014 purchase. It's performed well until now. We have tried multiple remotes, all with the same outcome, volume etc. works fine only issue is on/off.

Misread initial question.

We had a multifunction universal and the remote that came with the tv. Both worked fine until the power shenanigans. Well we never liked the Samsung remote but it worked as intended.

Fresh batteries, then

Try cleaning the end of the remote that emits IR. Also be sure the TV's IR receiver area is clean and unobstructed.

Finally check the Samsung.com web page on your model for new firmware. I can't do this as there is no full model number. But I check because it's the only user serviceable item there.
