It turned out the switch was not up to the task. I'd ask its maker for a fix.
I have a samsung plasma tv, model PS-42Q7HD, which has 1 hdmi port on the back. In order to run my bt vision box, an xbox 360 and my new samsung blu-ray player, model number BD-C5500, I have had to purchase a 3 way automatic hdmi switch, a nikkai connect 3-way automatic HDMI switch with ir remote control, from Maplin, code N61GY.
My problem is that all 3 work when plugged individually into the tv however when using the 3 way switch the tv will only show the bt vision transmission when the blu-ray is switched on. The blu-ray powers down after 30mins and the tv program disappears until you switch the blu-ray back on. I have tried swapping the cables around with no success. I should add that the xbox and blu-ray work fine thru the switch and automatically when powered up. It is just the issue of watching tv and having to have the player powered up.
Can I either stop the blu-ray powering down automatically or, better, can anyone explain why I can't see the tv without the player on and what I can do.
I hope someone is able to enlighten me further.
