Samsung TV will not power off

Just purchased a SamsungUN60ES6100F and it will not power off. It did not come with a remote. Programmed a couple of universal remotes and everything works fine but the power button. Even put it on sleep timer and it will still not power off. The only way to turn it off is to unplug it. Also red lettering on top of screen flashes off and on. The letters are T-MST10PAUSC-1016.4 1:40:51 60H1AFOE. The numbers (1:40:51) count up.
Any ideas?

Re; Samsung TV, not power off

Good call to check on the firmware. People tend to think that since it's new out of the box, it's up to date. Now that we have Smart Hub, they get far more frequent updates.

Regarding remote, your TV should have come with the TM1260 remote from what I see in my documentation. So get in contact with us, and we'll see about setting that up. Here's the thread where you can get details:
