Question

Samsung TV-Web browser question

Sep 6, 2016 4:11PM PDT

I have one of the new 2016 models, UN65KS800DFXZA and I have a new 55 inch model 630 in the bedroom. I am using web browser to watch Louis CK show Horace and Pete. I wanted to do speed test and web browser requires Adobe Flash, and evidently we dont have that in our Samsung TV web browser?

I cant download it using the web browser, for some reason.
Anybody know what I am talking about?

Main reason I wanna do speedtest is I have 100/10 speeds, but when i watch Horace and Pete it doesnt look at all like that and I am using the HD version.

Since I plan on watching the new Big Brother web version using my tv web browser, I want to get this fixed if possible. Speedtest or no speedtest.

The browser is not what it seems.

This browser is nothing like what we have on a PC, Android or Apple Tablet or phone. The Samsung TV system is a closed world where only Samsung can issue apps.

In short, if a video on a web page plays, it's a miracle. There is no known way to alter the browser.

If you can find it on YouTube then you play it with the YouTube app.

Here's a thing about speed. Even if the connection is all of 10 megabit, that's fine for HD (720p) and FHD (1080p) according to https://help.netflix.com/en/node/306 Beyond FHD is usually where we need more than 10.

-> I don't want to upset you but it's been 6 years and no word that Samsung will bring it's browser to be on par with any PC, Apple or phone today.

I am very happy with this TV.

I had a Pioneer Elite KURO plasma before, very very expensive, and blacks were amazing of course, but this picture is sooooooooo much better. Maybe the blacks arent as good, not sure, but the brightness/contrast and richness of this new TV is remarkable.

Amazing.
