When this happens you hope you can install it again or find a cheap mainboard. Samsung parts has never issued just this chip or released their factory programming tools.
Hi everyone
I have a 3 year old Samsung Smart TV UA48J6200AKXXA, I did a firmware update but it failed, and now whenever I boot my TV it is stuck at HDMI-1 port and locked to my laptop (because it was the last device connected to HDMI-1).
Issue:
Remote control buttons does nothing as soon as I power the TV on, can’t change channel and can’t even get menu to come up. Hard button on the back of the TV also does nothing.
Remote control itself still works, since infrared light still flashes whenever i press buttons. I also did remove remote control’s battery for a long time and tried again, still nothing.
Varies service menu button combination (info+menu+mute+power etc) does not work.
Can’t turn off TV with power button, I have to press and hold 'exit' button for a long time to shut it down.
If I plug in a USB Flash drive, it will still pop up options and the remote control allows me to navigate the flash drive.
Currently stuck on HDMI-1, the laptop connected to it can still display video and audio. If I connect HDMI-1 with my PC instead, my PC will detect the TV, but my TV shows black screen. Seems like it only recognizes my laptop atm.
I took the back panel off to inspect the mainbaord and powerboard and cannot find any noticeable defects (no burnt components, no puffy capacitors).
I have contacted Samsung Services and they said the mainboard has to be replaced, which I am not quite prepared to do just yet. I read through forums on the internet and couldn’t quite find someone that has a similar issue as mine, most of theirs are completely unusable, whereas my HDMI-1 still at least displays something.
So the question:
Does anyone have an older firmware for me or recommend an alternative method to reset the TV? I asked Samsung Service and they only kept the latest firmware. (but the latest one was the one that failed&hellip![]()
The mainboard model is BN41-02353 and I am considering doing EEPROM reset, but I don’t know where is it? A forum mentioned the chip label itself should start with “ATML” but I can’t find it. Right now I am guessing it’s either IC203 near the USB port or IC902?
