It's a common issue. There are many issues that this could be from the worst being Samsung's code just doesn't like that drive to formatting and power issues.
Start with a simple FAT32 partition (one only!) then move to other issues like power. There is no single cause or cure. In some cases you will find a drive that a TV just won't work with.
I WOULD NOT BUY THIS DRIVE FOR USE WITH A TV. Why?
"Quick Reconnect Button - safely re-enable the removed hard drive without unplugging and reinsertion
One Touch Auto-Backup button**
256-bit AES file & folder encryption"
These are all items that can interfere with use on a TV. You need the drive to be clean. No autobackup. No encryption. It must not require pressing that Quick connect button.
I have a Samsung TV model UA40J5200DK. I am trying to connect my Samsung TV with 1TB Transcend StoreJet 25M3 external hard drive. But my TV is not detecting the hard drive.
Can someone please help me in connecting my tv with external hard drive.
