Question

Samsung TV repeatedly turns ON after being turned off

Jul 18, 2016 8:59PM PDT

Hello!

Recently, our Samsung TV has been turning on after being turned off. We have tried removing ALL remote batteries (as we have several Samsungs in the house now) and have turned it off both with the remote and at the TV itself. The controls don't seem to be stuck anywhere that I can find, and it is quite a random occurrence, only happening every once in awhile. It will turn off automatically after 15 minutes, which is a setting that I had set, but immediately turns itself back on. Because of the positioning of our tiny living room, unplugging the TV from the outlet is a chore, and I was hoping someone could have some advice as to how to fix this problem. I'm at my wits end, and I apologize if there is another discussion that I could not find.

Answer
Try this before you call it in.

1. Since it's on for 15 minutes head to the connections to the internet and turn that off or unplug the Ethernet cable.

2. Read the product manual and try all resets there.

3. Check your warranty and how where you bought it since Costco and CC's may extend the warranty period.

No Connection

We don't have the TV connected to the internet, as we would prefer to have our PS3 hooked up instead. I tried the product manual resets, and they did not work, and we bought the TV several years ago, so all the warranties are no longer available.

Samsung usually has service for models over 32 inches.

With the usual out of the way, get repair estimates and compare to replacement costs.
