Samsung TV Remote Iphone App

by ctsolano / July 28, 2011 8:41 AM PDT
There needs to be a way to manually request the keyboard to appear while using the TV remote app (ver. 2.01). The keyboard does not automatically make itself availiable in certain situations. Namely in the Netflix app when trying to do a title search. I asume that the keyboard does come up because there is no search box present until you actually select a letter from the on screen grid using the arrow key and the enter button, and even after the search box does appear the keyboard is still not avaliable. There should be a button on the remote so that the keyboard can manually be requested when ever the user chooses. Also when using the web browser the remote should function as a touch pad mouse when pointer mode is selected so that navigation on the screen is possible. Without touch pad mouse and " keyboard on demand" ability the web browser is totally ulseless. If these two funtions were addressed then this would truely be a great and usefull utility, as it is without these features this app does not add anything to the functionatility of the button remote that came with the TV. Please fix this App.

I agree, although admittedly I am having no luck with the app at all, as soon as I go into smart mode it starts stalling/crashing and as yet I have never seen the keyboard on the iphone/ipad with youtube for example. Anyways just to let you know that I agree and a little bump although this post is not so low down in the pecking order as yet.

This must have been a known issue, because the App, has since been updated and the keyboard has been removed completely.

The Samsung RF23M8090SG

One of the best French door fridges we've tested

A good-looking fridge with useful features like an auto-filling water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It was a near-flawless performer in our cooling tests.
