Question

Samsung TV Power Supply Board Issues

Aug 27, 2015 2:44PM PDT

For quite a while now, my Samsung Model LN52A650A1FXZA has been having major screen issues. There have been horizontal lines as well as ghosting which make the image on the screen nearly unviewable. Looks sort of like this: http://ww2.justanswer.com/uploads/TV/TVTech1/2013-02-02_020833_lcd_ghost_image.jpg

Previously, I could wait for approximately 20 or 30 minutes and the picture would fix itself, until next time I turn it on. But that "solution" stopped working recently.

I searched online and found several solutions to my problem. Some say that the T-Con Board was the issue, others say that it is a problem with the connection of the LVDS cable. So I investigated the issue by opening up my back panel. When I did so, I found something surprising. On the Power Supply Circuit Board, it seems that several of the capacitors are faulty. I took some pictures to illustrate. http://imgur.com/KbSMPAX,563lCuj,TEZqO75,kfgYZcY,DrWT9so,MFFq3SO,tRSmrjp#0

As you can see, some of components on the board seem to have burst. I am assuming that it's not supposed to be like that. Would it be possible to repair or replace those components which are broken?

A bum power supply can take out other boards and push what would be a cheap fix to where it's cheaper to replace it.
