Samsung Tv is not working

I am using Samsung LCD tv. Recently its screen got dark and gradually lost audio and finally lost audio and video both. But when I on the tv screen flash and stop working? Has anyone got the same issue?

I googled that and there appear to be others. Since there are millions of sets, it's clear this is one of the common failures but that doesn't mean it will find you a common fix.
