Samsung TV is changing it's own settings!

My 2007 LNT3253H LCD Samsung TV has suddenly started changing its own settings. I change them back to what I want, but the TV soon reasserts itself (e.g. changes exterior "light effect" from "off" to "always on". Changes "energy saving" from "medium" to "off", and so on...). Any thoughts??? Could it be my Tivo and digital cable box are somehow doing this through the cable?
