did you put new batteries into the remote?
Yes new batteries are in remote
Yes I did put new batteries in the remote.
The cheap thing would be another remote.
I'd try that before getting repair estimates.
Be sure the TV's firmware is current (I can't check since that model wasn't located here on samsung.com)
Dont think it is the remote
I don't think it is the remote because we use the cable remote and the remote that goes to the TV and it is the same. They work but we have to walk all the way up to the TV and point it right at the sensor (within inches of it) to get the TV to turn on or off or change volume. The channels work for a distance and so do things like the guide or menu. It is just turning on and off and volume. It is very annoying!!!
Then it's the sensor or main board.
I see the Samsung rep has what's next.
