Question

Samsung Television & Sound bar audio skipping

by greg_straff / January 5, 2015 1:16 AM PST

Greeting,

I've recently purchased a Samsung television, Samsung UHD TV 4k 6840, along with a Samsung sound bar, HW-FM45 with a subwoofer.

Both being samsung, I have the display connected via HDMI, audio being connected via digital out. However, I've been using the smart tv function on the tv and using the onboard apps to stream video and audio. Youtube, Hulu, Netflix etc.

Recently I've been noticing an issue where the audio skips or mutes itself for a split second, everyone 30 seconds to 1 min, then resumes to play audio like normal.

After shuffling through the tv and sound bar options I still have the same continuing issue.

If any further information is needed please feel free to let me know what is needed to resolve this. Any feedback would be great!

Cheers,
Greg

Samsung should walk you through the basic checks such as removing caps on the optical then check firmware and more.

UPDATE
by greg_straff / January 5, 2015 10:47 AM PST

Installed the firmware update.

I've already remove the plastic/rubber caps that were on the end of the optical cable when I originally installed the sound bar.

Issue is still present, if not more persistent after the update.

1 second of silence as if its skipping every 5 to 15 seconds.

If make and supplier are not giving support, that's bad.

I'm not there to see the settings and try PCM/Stereo, etc. So if the maker and seller are not answering questions well, that's sad.

Having same issue with my HU8550 4k tv. Random audio skipping that occurs with soundbar and also through tv speakers. Very annoying and seems to be related to the smart tv apps. My only temporary solution is to reset the factory settings and reset up the tv. Helps for a little bit but eventually comes back. Hoping for Samsung or Netflix to offer some fix.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
