Subject: "ln32a450 slight snow when receiving 1080p signal from dvd-1080p8"

Question: "What's the cause? No problems with
1080i or below. I realize this is a
(720p) lcd but i don't have this issue
with my ln32a540 (720p). Ln32a450
incompatability to deal with 1080p
signal as well as the ln32a540?
Just curious?"

Answer from cs: "Dear mamontano"

"If you get any 1080 (i or p) signal on a 720 p tv it is a surprise. You shouldn't be able to view any resolution that is higher than what the tv supports."

Are you kidding. The whole issue is the dvd player not holding manual
setting of 1080i or less. Reverts back to auto 1080p due to hdmi
connection. Must not know the tv's too well. I think we all know
that 720p tv's support 1080i signals. Bizarro world, man.

Call them

From my experience i never really get any good responses through CS from e-mail. They usually always tell me to call 800-SAMSUNG so that's your best bet.

Anynet?

mamontano,

If you disable Anynet+ on the television and the DVD player, is it able to hold the resolution without changing it?

tried disabling anynet+

No luck. I want to use anynet+ and hdmi cable.
Maybe it's something you guys could look into.
Hopefully it's a simple fix. My main curiousity
is the slight snow on the ln32a450 but not the
ln32a540 when receiving the 1080p signal. What
changed from series 4 to series 5?

maybe player issue

Will have to swap the 2 i have, before
doing an exchange, and see if i'm getting
noise/snow. Was told from another poster that
he had the same problem i'm having, with the
dvd player not holding the 1080i or below setting,
but no snow/noise on his ln32a450 receiving the
1080p signal. This is so much fun. I feel for
you guys with the larger hdtv's who either have
to return them or have them installed in places
with difficult access to connections.
