Samsung T260HD doesn't work with Windows

by wsg49 / August 24, 2013 10:54 AM PDT

I have a problem with a T260HD + GTX260 + Windows 7 64bit. My monitor works fine in the POST and up through "Welcome to Windows" but then when it should go to the blue screen with the windows logo, the monitor usually goes blank. Used to be that if I did a system shutdown, it would be okay on the next start - every other start would be blank. Then something else changed and it takes several starts to get it up again. Some times never. Swapped cables (single-link DVI-D) - no change. Reinstalled Windows. Tried newest drivers. No change. Installed a second monitor and that works fine every time. Starting in Ubuntu works fine. Safe Mode is fine. - Seems like there is something about how the plug-n-play sees the monitor and assigns drivers. Any ideas on how to fix this? or at least manually set the drivers?

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
