Samsung T260HD 1080p stretching

by nordicskibum / December 27, 2009 12:15 AM PST

Hey everyone
So for xmas I asked for the Samsung T260HD monitor... and I got it. My old monitor was setup like so. DVI was computer and VGA was xbox 360. Sadly I don't have the HD component cable or an HDMI cable so I set up my new monitor the same way as my old one.

When I went into the xbox 360 display settings I raised the resolution up from 1680 x 1050 (16:10) to 1920 x 1080 (16:9). That was my only option.

My problem is that I saw that there was some stretching to get the 16:9 ratio to fit the full 16:10 monitor. So I went into the settings and found that there is no way to turn off the auto stretch.

So my question is simple. Is there a way to fix this so I can play through VGA with 1080p and no stretching? Or if I go out and buy and HDMI cable will there be stretching? I would be the Xbox HD Component cable but that thing is like $50.

Thanks

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
