Question

Samsung t.v. model UN50J5200AFXZA

Mar 3, 2018 10:29AM PST

Last Sunday my backlights began to flash. I was unable to turn on power or even turn it off. It flashes as soon as it it plugged in. Called tech support for Samsung they want me to send it in to a service center. I am just out of my 1 year warranty. The model was bought in 16 but apparently is a 2015 model. I just changed out the power supply board, figuiring that was the problem, but again as soon as I plugged it in, the flashing backlights began. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in Advance

Dave

https://www.samsungparts.com/SM-UN50J5200AF-MANUAL.html notes the service manual is 4+ weeks away so to repair any TV I demand that or I won't go near a set at the shop. Some may wonder why but years in repair shops tell me this isn't optional except in the odd case.

Without this, a tech is just guessing.
