samsung syncmaster 226bw - analog/digital problem


Hope someone can help me with this. I have 2 samsung syncmaster 226bw, one at my dads house and one at my mothers house. They are probably 1-2 years old. I use DVI cable with them to my computer.

Now they both stopped working almost at the exact time ! Sometimes it worked and sometimes it just swapped between 'Digital' and 'Analog' and then died. The blue power button on the screen just going on and off like no screen was detected. Then after a while it said 'check signal cable'.

So i thought something was wrong with my graphic card (4850 radeon hd 1 gb) but it was newly bought so no, don't think so.

So i tried with a new screen that uses the blue cable and used a DVI converter so i still use the DVI connection hole into my computer, and no problemas ! Why is that ? Resolution or something ? I haven't changed resolution since i bought it so i don't understand why it started mocking around.

Syncmaster analog/digital signal

The symptoms you describe sound as if the monitor is not receiving the DVI signal. Try pressing the 'Source' button to switch between analog and digital signals and see if this helps.

Thanks for replying. I tried it and it just says like before 'analog - digital'.

From my newby view it seems my computer can't take signal from the white DVI cable from the screens. But it likes it when it comes from the VGA hole in the screen to the (using converter) DVI input in the computer. So i guess i will have to keep it like this ?

Probably because i move my computer by car every week so it doesn't like the bumps in the road maybe.

I have the error

I have the same error. The screen is my secondary monitor, it worked all fine until not so long ago when the power button first flashed and now its just glowing but on the screen it says in swedish :kontrollera signalen: or in enlish check signal cable. On samsungs web it says that my drivers are old but after a i updated all my drivers it still donesnt work.

Does this display work on any other PC or device?

If not, it needs repair. If it does, we need to try another monitor on this PC.
