Samsung Soundbar Skips Audio When Streaming Netflix

Sep 8, 2013 4:15PM PDT

I have audio skipping problem (irregular, every minute or so) using my Crystal Surround Air Track soundboard when I am streaming Netflix to the TV and Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 sound is selected for the Netflix title.

If I use the TV speakers or select Stereo for the Netflix title I don't have this problem. I also don't seem to have this problem if I am playing a DVD or streaming Netflix from my DVD player. It's just the SmartTV streaming to the soundboard that is causing the problem.

My TV: UN60ES7150
MY Sound Board: HW-E450C (Crystal Surround Air Track)

As far as I know I have the latest software/firmware upgrades.

It sure would be nice to get Dolby Digital Plus using on two remotes. Please let me know if this is a known problem and if there is a workaround.

Thanks,
Lou

Samsung Soundbar Skils Audio When Streaming Netflix - Fixed
Jan 27, 2015 2:10PM PST

(At least for me)

I am now noticing no skipping when selecting Dolby Digital Plus 5.1. Played two movies and the Intro to House of Cards with no sound issues. Either Samsung fixed their TV/Soundboard or Netflix recoded the audio but whatever was done now works! Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 sounds so much better than stereo (although it's perhaps on 2.1)

same problems

i also have this dropouts problem
first i didn't had 5.1 content available on mine UE48H6400
after a few months waiting finaly 5.1 sound ... but with the drop out problems
I use an Onkyo 626 but i'm sure he can handle DD+ because everythings sound good when i just use Chromecast.

Samsung support isn't much helping in Benelux, the just tell me it's a netflix problem.

So frustrating and i can't accept a TV anno 2014 has to set to stereo.
everybody is talking about Ultra HD, but sound isn't important...

I'm thinking about selling mine two months old Samsung TV.

I have a LG TV and LG home theatre system and same problem
Apr 17, 2015 9:37PM PDT

Seems the issue with Netflix and home theatre is not just a Samsung issue but a Netflix one. I too have experienced this issue since watching Netflix and playing the sound through the ARC setting between my LG TV and blue ray home theatre system. Having made the changes mentioned above (PCM and Stereo in lieu of 5.1) has improved the audio skipping.

I figured it out, at least on my Samsung.

So I called Netflix and nothing. I figured out it was happening on all of the tv's apps. I tried to figure it for a while and finally I went to the sound settings, I then went to the SPDIF output setting and changed audio format to pcm and BAM. It worked I have Netflix sound through my sound bar.
Happy camper.
