Question

Samsung Soundbar not turning on

by cbstve / March 17, 2016 5:43 AM PDT

I am having an issue with my Samsung Soundbar HM45C. For some reason it will not turn on whatsoever. It was working fine a few days ago, however, when I go to turn it on I have nothing. It's just over a year old so I don't want to have to buy a new one. Any ideas on what could be causing this or is it a lost cause?

Thanks,
Steve

Answer
I would consider just replacing it

With soundbars easy to find now (even new) for <$100, the cost of repair might lead you to simply replace it. Sorry. At least this way you get another small warranty window though. With repair you would not.

I agree.

Today the shop counter fee is 150USD here so unless it's in warranty it's replaced.

But let's check the usual.
1. The remote needs new batteries (your post is unclear about if it turned on.)
2. Try the power on button on the bar.
3. If it is powering up but no sound, cycle through the inputs.
4. If you are, were using ARC then try other audio inputs.
