Question

Samsung SMX-F700

Nov 12, 2011 8:07AM PST

So I've got Samsung's new F700 camcorder that only been out a few weeks but I'm having problems with it.
When updating the firmware I get an error saying the memory card is write protected.
When using Intelli-studio to delete files from the camcorder it says the memory card is write protected.
When using Windows Explorer to delete files from the camcorder via USB cable it says the memory card is write protected.

No, I don't have the f700 but for years I've encountered this and found I need to get my files off the card then format the card in the camera.

Thanks Bob. I thought I had formatted the card so I formatted it again and tried to update the firmware but it still gives the same error.

I have to ask.

Did you format the card IN THE CAMERA?

If formatting the card in the camera fails to fix it, then try another card. If that fails, time to call the maker.

Parting thought. Ran across something similar with another camera. Turns out the card was not a supported size.
