Sometimes for days. Always call in the failure so they either tell you about the service issue or provide a fix. When their services stop, there is no fix until they bring them back.
To me this is a real issue with Smart TVs as there is no agreement in place that you can hold them accountable if they shut down the services.
Also, the Smart TV functions that should not depend on Samsung fail when Samsung pulls the plug. Why should the Smart TV need Samsung for web browsing or Netflix?
I have a relatively new Samsung SmartTV - aka purchased in December 2015. Two days ago it stopped connecting to the internet. I have checked my internet connection and everything is fine with it (I have AT&T Uverse but my computer and phone works fine). Every time I run the diagnostic, it comes up with a MAC Address but no IP address or other information. I have read online how you can enter a manual DNS number either 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4, but that did not work for me. I also made sure that my TV's clock was set appropriately, reset the smart hub, and attempted to update the software (which is impossible with internet) to no avail. Please help! I'm desperate to get my internet working on my SmartTV again...and yes it might just be because I'm addicted to Netflix. Any advice would help
