Question

Samsung Smart TV wifi connection

Sep 15, 2016 7:43AM PDT

I am attempting to connect my 6300 (2015) to my apartments wifi. The wifi has a login page, but there is no username or password, just simply hit enter. The TV will not allow me to connect because the wifi is open (thus does not give me an option to login), and if I try to add a new network and place WEP or any other security in order to get prompted for a username and password, the TV will not allow me to enter without adding at least 6 digits. Any tips or tricks?

If the WiFi is via a portal, Smart TVs might not work. This is an area that is troublesome to outright doesn't work. You might have to use a PC with say something like Connectify to make the connection. This is not an offer to give a step by step.

True.

I think you may be right. My best bet may be to simply plug a PC into the HDMI ARC and just do everything from there. If I need to update the TV I suppose I can just hot spot my phone long enough to do so.

Thanks for the reply.
