Question

Samsung Smart tv blacks out when turned on

Oct 2, 2015 10:27AM PDT

While turning on my Samsung smart tv (model UN55F6300AF) it blacks out when the hdmi cable from mxq tv box is plugged in. I have to unplug the hdmi cable and power off the tv and power back on again to make my tv work. Does anyone having this kind of issue or anyone know what's happening?

A TV should not black out like that. That is the menu and such should still work. Call it in and ask Samsung to fix it.

I apologize for the inconvenience. Please make sure the firmware is completely up to date on the unit according and matches Samsung's website: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/UN55F6300AFXZA

You can find the firmware listed under the "Downloads" section. If the firmware is completely up to date on the television, I would recommend trying a different HDMI cable, or even different HDMI port.

Do you notice this happen with any other devices?

I already tried different hdmi cables and different ports as well. Still the same. Does software update updates firmware too?
