Question

Samsung Smart TV

Mar 14, 2016 12:38AM PDT

I have a Samsung UD(I think) 8000 Smart TV. Recently the remote control querty keyboard side stopped communicating with the tv. The tv says to pair the remote to the tv but then says only one remote can be paired. Issue is the remote is obviously paired, but not recognized. Any suggestions on a fix? Or how to 'unpair' so I can start again?
The tv side of the remote works fine.

Answer
First, power down TV and unplug from wall

Then, pull batteries from remote. Grab fresh batteries for good measure.

Now, insert batteries again, then plug in HDTV and turn on. See if that does it.

If not, try a factory reset- then re-pair the same remote. After that, if it's still not working you need to do a warranty claim on the remote.

Thanks Pepe7! worked a treat. Keep forgetting that 'smart' is just another word for a TV using a PC - just reboot!
