bobbyboy07,

Follow the instructions below to connect the Samsung Skype Webcam to your TV (the STC1100 will only be compatible with the D7000, while the FREETALK webcam available on Skype's website will only be compatible with the 2010 product)

When
you attach the camera to a TV, ensure the camera is placed within the "Recommended
range of use" as indicated in the picture below.
Note:
The shape can be different depending on the model but the installation is the
same.
1. Attach
the camera using the magnetic holder to the TV, referring to "Recommended
range of use."
2. Connect
the USB cable from the Camear to the USB port on the rear of the TV.
3. Attach
the cable clip to the TV to neatly organize the connected USB cable.
-Recommended
range of use:
The area that will offer you an optimal view of the other party during
a video call.
-The
camera should be attached to an area on the TV that will display the
best picture on the display of the other party.
-The
USB cable should be connected to the USB1(HDD) port.

bobbyboy07,

I'm very sorry that the information provided did not alleviate the issue. Unfortunately, since I cannot diagnose the issue from here, I would suggest that you contact Samsung Service in your region for live assistance. Samsung Service should be able to better assist you with setting up your webcam or diagnosing a deeper problem with your devices.

I just got the Samsung PN64D8000FF and the Samsung Skype Webcam. I had the same experience...no sound in the room with the TV and Webcam. The test call was silent. I discovered that when the TV is setup for audio using the TV speakers then the webcam works fine. When the TV audio is set to use external speakers then the system does not allow the Skype camera to work properly. Perhaps Samsung has a suggestion. I'd like to use both my tv speakers as well as my Denon audio system.

Please do escalate. I'm in tech support at Adobe and tried everything. Fooled with all the audio settings. Someone needs to figure out how to use external speakers with this webcam because anyone using a 64" plasma has an expensive sound system and they either want both internal and external speakers or just external. I'd love to be able to use both speakers at the same time but there is no choose in the software...maybe that's one way to fix this...add that option in the TV firmware.

The Samsung RF23M8090SG

One of the best French door fridges we've tested

A good-looking fridge with useful features like an auto-filling water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It was a near-flawless performer in our cooling tests.
