First had green dots on screen. Tried to clean ribbon as many had mentioned in researching. Now it won't turn on. What could I of done wrong?

Obviously you broke something else. Could be power related if it doesn't turn on any more. Check all connections.
Are very fragile. Try a new cable.
Parts? Ebay, shopjimmy.com, www.samsungparts.com and maybe a donor TV off ebay?
